Week #6
im so sorry if you all get this email alot, my gmail has been acting really
weird lately!
Hey everyone!! I hope you have all been doing great and enjoying the summer π
This week was definitely one to never forget. To begin, our mission is very big on committing our investigators to do baptisms in the temple after they are baptized to help them endure to the end. And we committed our investigator to do that so that was SO awesome π and then we had the trainers meeting and I got to meet up with my MTC companion and roommates and ah, it was so much fun!!
We had the Apostle visit with Elder Ballard on Saturday and wowza, that was the neatest thing ever. Our whole mission was there (of 160 missionaries) and we started the visit by shaking his hand. That was way cool, of course. Elder Ballard is awesome! One of the best things he told us was "Just relax. Let the Lord help you. Be yourselves and smile! Be happy!" :) There was a point in it that he was reading a chunk of the scriptures to us and it was so cool to just be able to listen to an apostle read the Book of Mormon to us. Elder Ballard was doing missionary work on the airplane too coming over here! He said that he had given this girl a book he had written and even wrote a personal note in the cover and said that when she runs into the missionaries in the future, to show them that note. So the Canada Edmonton Mission is definitely on the hunt down for whoever that woman may be lol. It was also really cool because Elder Spackman of the Seventy was there!! and I ran into Sister Spackman and she remembered Manassa perfectly from the Stake Conference! So that was way awesome too! I got to try some Donair. Idk if that's in the states but it's big here in Canada. It's some kind of meat but idk what it even is, to be honest. :) we haven't gotten any more investigators but we have been working with the members to help them do missionary work and that has been really fun to see them get involved and excited about sharing it with their friends! It's awesome to see how the gospel strengthens our relationship with people. something I learned this week is that it's so important to be patient with others, but don't forget to be patient with yourself :) sometimes we are just too hard on ourselves but when we try a little harder to be a little better, the Lord will strengthen us when we are weak! <3
As Elder Ballard told us, Adios Amigos!! :) (sorry for the novel, this week was just too great to leave the big things out)
